Herbert B. McGonigle, Ph.D., Director Emeritus of the Manchester Wesley Research Centre and retired Senior Lecturer in Historical Theology, Church History, and Wesley Studies, Nazarene Theological College.

The Revd Dr McGonigle, a native of County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, was appointed as the first Director of the Manchester Wesley Research Centre in 2003. He is Principal Emeritus and retired Senior Lecturer in Church History and Wesley Studies at Nazarene Theological College. Joint founder and chair of The Wesley Fellowship and renowned scholar in Wesley Studies, Dr McGonigle has over seventy published articles and books, including Sufficient Saving Grace: John Wesley’s Evangelical Arminianism (Paternoster, 2001).

In 2017, the MWRC produced the video ‘Emeritus: The Life & Work of Dr. Herbert McGonigle’.
