Linda M. Stargel, PhD

'The Construction of Exodus Identity in the Texts of Ancient Israel: A Social Identity Approach' (NTC), 2016.

Linda is the Academic Dean and Lecturer in Biblical Studies and Biblical Languages at the Nazarene Theological College (Australia) https://ntc.edu.au/about-us/college-staff/rev-dr-linda-stargel. She completed her PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Dwight Swanson. Her revised dissertation was published by Wipf and Stock in 2018: The Construction of Exodus Identity in Ancient Israel: A Social Identity Approach.

Linda is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene with over 30 years’ experience in children’s and cross-cultural ministry. She served in pastoral ministry in Montreal and in theological education in Quebec, Dominican Republic, and Haiti.  She holds membership in the Society of Biblical Literature and in the Australian and New Zealand Association of Theological Schools (ANZATS). She has Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) supervisor status at the Sydney College of Divinity and at Flinders University (College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences).

Her particular research interests are: Retold exodus stories, social memory and identity, narrative art, Prophets, and understanding violence in the Old Testament.
