†John Stuart Isherwood (1934-2015), ‘An Analysis of the Part Played by William Seward as Supporter of the Rev George Whitefield in the Years 1738-1740’ (M.Phil., NTC), 1995.

John Isherwood was born in Manchester, graduated from Chester Teacher Training College, and went on to teach at various grammar schools. He took early retirement to serve as Senior Lecturer at Emmanuel Bible College Birkenhead. He lectured on various subjects, with a particular focus on Church History and Greek. After Emmanuel Bible College amalgamated with Nazarene Theological College in 1997, he lectured for three years at NTC. On (second) retirement he co-founded an English language school for asylum seekers in Liverpool. John was a very popular teacher and preacher in many churches. He was involved in the Maranatha movement, the Liverpool Chinese Church, the Sisters of Jesus Way, and Emmanuel Church, Birkenhead.
